About me

Hi, I'm Violet and I'd love to help you with your project.

I studied architecture for two years before turning to a career in science. I enjoyed my years in science but my passion for design never left me and I realised it was the interiors I should be working on.

Whatever your project be it a complete refurb or a light touch update, I'll happily discuss with no obligation. Tell me about your starting point: there's always a starting point of some sort - even the shell of a building has a context and a story. Would you like to reconfigure your space? Have you furnishings and objets d'art that you want to include? What would you like your space to say about you?

What's my approach? One eye on current trends but just the one: instead my aim is an inviting space with a coherent design that is convenient to live in. After all great design is timelesss.

An appreciation of the period of the structure I'm working with is part of the process, whether new build or listed property, but there's no need to be a slave to it. Equally one might reference a sense of place, although sometimes the surprise is that inside and outside bear no relation!

I have no arrangements with suppliers because I curate items from a huge range of companies and want no restrictions on the creative process. I want to chose the most appropriate item for the project for the best value at the time. After all there's always a budget to work to. And when it comes to sourcing, items that are eco-friendly and made in Britain get extra points!

So if you want to work with an original, independent designer who delivers a unique experience get in touch, and I'll help you create a space you'll enjoy every day.
